marketing report – Low Cost Marketing Strategies – A Free Report
People prefer to do business with people they know, like and trust. If you've just met, how do you get a prospect to know, like and trust you? One great way is to give them some free information in the form of a free report. This free report should tell readers how to solve a problem they are having.
Start with a problem your clients have - that you solve - and make it as real and ugly as possible. This is not the time to be abstract or vague. Make the reader feel the pain of the problem. Get detailed. Think worst case scenario. Use real life examples if possible. Scare the pants off the reader.
Once the reader is convinced that the problem is real, and not taking action will be painful and costly, give the solution. Don't just jump in with a sales pitch for your company. Outline a variety of solutions, along with their benefits and drawbacks. Make the final solution the one that you offer.
Now show why your product or service is the best solution to their problem. Keep it simple. You've spent two or more pages building trust. Don't blow it by giving the hard sell. If you've written the report properly the reader will easily be convinced that your solution is the best. There's no need to hit them over the head.
When you've completed your report or recording, offer it from your website in exchange for their contact information. It can be an e-mail address, a snail mail address, a phone number or all three. The key is to use the free report as a stepping stone for creating an ongoing conversation with your prospect.
Once you've created a free report you need to promote it. Offer it from your website as a bonus for subscribing to your e-zine. When at networking events, mention your free report and tell people how to get it. Promote it in your yellow pages ads.
If your free report is well written, and not merely a sales pitch, it will convince readers of your expertise and give them a reason about feeling more confident about you. Then they'll be one step closer to becoming a customer.
